Rs 10 cr from centre for tech park: Scindia

THE UNION Commerce and Industry Ministry has sanctioned a grant of Rs 10 crore for setting up of Software Technology Park in Gwalior.

The amount has been sanctioned for establishing export infrastructure and other related activities under STPI in the state. Giving this information the Guna-Shivpuri Member of Parliament Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the state government would contribute Rs 2 crore for the proposed plan.

The plan comprises of construction of building on 10,000-square feet land, provision for three-acre open land and Rs one crore for the development of infrastructure.

The State Government has accorded sanctioned for the establishment of Software Technology Park under ASIDE Plan for which the State Electronic Development Corporation has been authorised.

Scindia pointed out that efforts were being made to obtain an additional amount of Rs 5 crore from the Union Information Technology and Communication Ministry for the development of the park.

He expressed gratitude towards the Union Commerce and Industry Minister for providing Rs 10 crore for the plan. Scindia claimed that the establishment of the park would lead to the development of the region and creation of job opportunities for the youth.

The amount would be made available to the state government in two installments, he added.
