Rs 7.83 lakh stolen

A BAG of a moneylender containing Rs 7. 83 lakh cash was stolen from the ICICI bank near the Shastri Bridge. Satish Saravgi had come to the bank to deposit the money.

As report of the theft came, SP D Sriniwas Rao and Omti CSP Satyendra Shukla rushed to the spot. As activities of the banks are monitored by cameras, the bank top-notch officials and police officers viewed it to find some clues in the case.

According to Omti CSP Shukla, Satish Saravgi along with Naresh Potdar had come to deposit the money with the bank. After Naresh deposited the money, Satish rose to deposit his money, which he had kept close by but found it stolen.

Incidentally, Director General of Police (DGP) Swaraj Puri was taking a meeting of police officials in his hometown here today when the daredevil theft took place.
