ACCELERATED POWER Development Reform Project (APDRP) is being executed at Khandwa, Khargone, Burhanpur and Dhar for which Rs 8.68 crore has been sanctioned for carrying out augmentation of line wire of 33 KV and 11 KV and for improvement in sub transmission network.

Talking to Hindustan Times, MP Western Region Electricity Distribution Company executive director KG Goswami said that under APDRP scheme sub transmission network improvement would be done as well as development of additional capacity of transformers would be done to meet the additional load of new prosperous consumers.

New 11 KV and 33 KV lines will be laid under this scheme. He added that for carrying out augmentation of line Rs 109 lakh had been sanctioned for Khargone, Rs 96 lakh for Dhar, Rs 353 lakh for Khandwa and Rs 309 lakh had been sanctioned for Burhanpur. Existing 33/11 KV sub-station of these for towns will be renovated.

He reasoned that this would improve the stability of electricity and contain transformer failure. Current carrying capacity of line would be increased by increasing thickness of wire, which would improve quality of supply.

In places where there is a possibility of electricity theft cable wire will be provided instead of naked wire so that electricity theft by hooking the wire on the line can be prevented.
