“The ABKM strongly supported the spirit of the resolution ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, Ayodhya’ which the Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad passed in its meeting in New Delhi on September 16-17, 2006,” the ABKM’s third resolution said. Senior RSS member Madan Das Devi released it at a Press conference here on Sunday.

“Crores of Hindus from all the cities and 2,75,000 villages across Bharat and also from abroad expressed their firm determination with unprecedented zeal and solidarity in 1989 to construct the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir proposed by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas on the same site where Shri Ram Lalla is graciously seated today,” the resolution said and disclosed that the model of the proposed Shri Ram Mandir had reached all the houses in all those cities, villages and abroad.

“The Hindus are sentimentally attached to this model,” the resolution said. It added construction of the temple should begin at the earliest under the auspices of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas, as per the proposed model. The stones carved for this purpose with the help of money collected from common people by the Nyas should be used, it added.

The ABKM called upon Hindus to maintain their solidarity and remain determined to achieve the goal of temple construction under the leadership of saints, disregarding attempts to create confusion.

The ABKM, in its second resolution, decried attacks on centres of Hindu reverence in the country and appealed to society in general and Swayamsevaks in particular to remain ever vigilant and be ready for a struggle against every attempt to assault Hindu sentiments. “The objectionable presentation of Hindu Gods and Goddess, instigation against Hindu religious festivals and programmes, arrest and subsequent harassment of Hindu religious leaders are glaring examples of attacks, atrocities and insults meted out to the Hindu society,” the resolution said.

The resolution added, “Temples are traditionally cultural centres and a unifying force of Hindu society. The decorum of these centres is being violated these days and non-Bharatiya religions are getting foothold for their proselytising activities, which is highly condemnable.”

“Religious conversion is on the rise under the UPA Government and no efforts are being made to check this trend,” Madan Das Devi said.

Stating that the Tirumala Tirupati was an ancient and holy place of pilgrimage, the resolution condemned missionaries for “an attack on it by means of proselytizing activities”. It said, “All this reveals the hollowness of our political and bureaucratic system.” The resolution said the ABKM was the supporter of the autonomy of religious places and traditions and warned the government that, ”its interference in pilgrimage centres and acquisition of Maths-Mandirs should be stopped”.

“Any attempt to block the flow of the revered Ganga and tampering with the precious ecological balance of the holy Himalayas are risks we can ill afford in the name of western development models,” the resolution said. “The authorities should change the tendency to play with the sanctity of pilgrimages in the name of tourism development,” it added.
