Saina in final of Jaypee Cup

Top seed Saina Nehwal stormed into the women's single final of the Jaypee Cup Syed Modi International Grand Prix Badminton Tournament, outplaying Swiss star and sixth seed Jeanine Cicognini in straight games 21-12, 21-10.

She will take on fourth seed Indian Aditi Mutatkar, who shocked second seed Indonesian Marie Fabe Kusumastuti in a thrilling contest 22-20, 21-13, at the UPBA Academy on Saturday.

It would be top seed Chetan Anand and fifth seed Indonesian Dyonisius Hayom Rumbaka in the men's singles final. Chetan was at ease in the 35-minute duel as he outplaying eighth seed Guru Sai Datt 21-16, 21-13, while Dyonisius brushed aside Malaysian Kwong Beng Chan 21-13, 21-16.

It was Aditi Mutatkar, who was in the spotlight on Saturday. She jumped to a 9-1 lead in the opening game. Though Kusumastuti pressed hard for points, Aditi took six points on the trot for the game.
