“The BJP and its ancillary bodies are using the sadhu’s murder as an excuse to wreak havoc on properties and lives of minorities especially the Christians. They are indulging in provoking people even as the state government (NDA) admitted that Maoists were behind the killing of the sadhu,” Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Congress spokesperson told mediapersons.
The Congress also said that events in Godhra, Kanpur and Orissa point to the BJP and its associates indulging in spread of communal clashes among people.
Referring to incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, Singhvi said: “The BJP is trying to fish in the troubled waters, which is why the Amarnath Sangharsh Samiti has kept the party away from its protests and now indulging in finding a solution to the problem.”
