Saxophone-flute duet mesmerises audience

THE SAXOPHONE-FLUTE duet presented by Kadari Gopalnath and Ronu Majumdar mesmerised the audience at the Bharat Bhavan tonight with every inch of the multi-art complex being occupied with music aficionados. It was the seventh day of the 24th foundation day celebrations of Bharat Bhavan.

THE SAXOPHONE-FLUTE duet presented by Kadari Gopalnath and Ronu Majumdar mesmerised the audience at the Bharat Bhavan tonight with every inch of the multi-art complex being occupied with music aficionados. It was the seventh day of the 24th foundation day celebrations of Bharat Bhavan.

Kadari Gopalnath has the rare distinction of integrating a foreign musical instrument saxophone into Indian classical music.

Flutist Ronu Majumdar had his initial training from his father Dr Bhanu Majumdar and later from Laxman Prasad and Pt. Vijay Raghavrao. He has accompanied Pt. Ravishankar to various countries of Asia and Europe.

Both Kadari Gopalnath and Ronu Majumdar have been honoured with several awards and are world-renowned exponents of their respective music genre.
