SBI strike gets support

VARIOUS ORGANISATIONS have expressed solidarity with the State Bank of India employees’ ongoing strike. The strike entered its fifth day on Friday.

The State unit of United Forum of Bank Unions has extended support to the agitation launched by unions in State Bank of India.

State convenor, YK Arora said, when the government has not to pay any money, it should give approval on recommendation of the SBI management. The SBI too has not to make any separate provision if pension ceiling is removed.

There is a separate corpus in SBI. He appealed that the Central government should urgently give clearance on the demands of the SBI employees.

State Employees’ Joint Council, UP too has extended support to the SBI employees strike. Amarnath Yadav, senior vice-president of the council said, pension related and other demands of the SBI employees were fair and that the council supported the strike.

He also issued instructions to the branches of council in various districts to support and attend SBI employees’ public meetings in their respective districts.
Similarly, Vidyut Karmachari Morcha Sangathan, UP too has extended support to the striking employees of SBI.
