The Supreme Court on Monday issued notices to all major political parties and various media organisations on a Public Interest Litigation seeking proper regulation of opinion and exit polls.

A Bench of Justice AR Lakshmanan and Justice Dalveer Bhandari asked the respondents to reply to the notices on the PIL by one DK Thakur, filed in 2004.

The Court earlier issued notices to the Centre, the Election Commission and the Press Council of India.
