Scindia hails Sonia decision
GUNA MP Jyotiraditya Scindia has said that Sonia Gandhi’s resignation from Lok Sabha and also as the chairperson of the National Advisory Council was a live example of her dedication to serve the people, which was her sole motive for joining politics.
Scindia, who was here to take part in the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association meeting called to review the preparations for the forthcoming India-England one-day international on April 15, said that her step was worth emulating.
He said that Gandhi’s decision was an emotional one as she had been hurt by the campaign by the opposition parties who alleged that that the government was planning to bring an ordinance to protect her from being disqualified as a MP for holding ‘an office of profit’ as the National Advisory Council chairperson.
Earlier, Scindia was given a rousing welcome by Congress supporters at the Indore airport. Among others, Scindia’s close lieutenant, State Congress vice-president Tulsi Silawat, City Congress president Ujagar Singh, Kripa Shankar Shukla, K K Mishra were present.
Scindia then inspected the under-construction Usha Raje ground, where the one-day international would be played, with the MPCA board members.
