The Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) is likely to announce its candidates for both Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Sikkim in the first week of April.

The list of nominees will be finalised by the party's parliamentary board which will be set up in the next couple of days under the chairmanship of the chief minister and party president Pawan Chamling, party general secretary S K Pradhan said here today.

Besides their ability to win a seat, loyalty to the party and capacity to deliver the goods for their respective constituencies are the factors being taken into consideration by the party leadership in selecting a candidate, he said.

A few new faces are also likely to be given tickets this time, he added.
