A police official at Parimpora police station said that “a mine was traced” by a patrol of army on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway at Shalteng, some 10 km from city centre.

“It was diffused without causing any damage to life or property,” said the officer.

The incident created some chaos on the highway as traffic was disrupted for couple of hours.
