HCL INFOSYSTEMS Ltd began a two-day exhibition at the Fanthome Hall on Saturday where customers could even bring in their old PCs or laptops and sell it to buyers who would be visiting the exhibition.
The sellers of these old PCs and laptops could then book a brand new laptop at the exhibition.
The exchange offer is apart from the opportunity to buy a laptop through a finance facility or making cash down payment at the exhibition.
“We have set up an ‘exchange counter’ at the exhibition where old PCs and laptops could be exchanged for new ones after HCL engineers have evaluated the condition of old machines,” Business Entity Manager (UP & Rajashthan), HCL Infosystems Ltd Ashish Bhatnagar told HT Live.
He said HCL Infosystems was displaying a range of laptops at the exhibition which were launched nationally by the company on March 1, 2006.
The price range of laptops start from Rs 27,490 to Rs 52,000 and are available with finance facilities being provided by Bajaj Finance Ltd at the exhibition, Bhatnagar said.
He said laptop sales had witnessed 150 per cent growth in the past one year nationally. “The same pace of growth is being witnessed in Laptop sales in Lucknow during the past one year,” Bhatnagar said.
There are other options being offered by the company with product offers such as a doctor buying a laptop could get discounts on speciality software which could be brought from vendors on the HCL list.
The software could range from keeping patient records besides many other related medical utilities, he added.
