Sensex closes 29.17 pts higher

The benchmark Sensex gained 29.17 points on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Thursday, to end at 11,477.48 points in hectic trading activity.
The index witnessed a high of 11,551.69 points and a low of 11,379.44 points during the day on alternate bouts of trading by market players.
However, the National Stock Exchange index nifty ended down by 2.15 points at 3353.90 before rising to 3385.15 and a low of 3328.60 during the day.
