Sensex gains 62 pts in early trade

The BSE index gains over 62 points on the back of funds buying and in line with firming trend in the Asian markets.

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex, on Friday set a new peak of 14,714 by gaining over 62 points in early trade on the back of funds buying and in line with firming trend in the Asian markets.

The Sensex rose by 62.19 points at 14,714.28 in first five minutes of trading.

The wide base National Stock Exchange index, Nifty, also gained 16.60 points at 4239.20 points.

The buying activities picked up following firming trade in Asian stock market like Tokyo, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea.
