Sensex tanks again, down 157 points

The BSE index falls by more than 157 points in early trade on sustained selling by funds and retail investors.

Continuing its downslide, the BSE benchmark index, Sensex, fell by more than 157 points in early trade on Thursday on sustained selling by funds and retail investors.

The 30-share sensitive index, Sensex, which had lost nearly 391 points in the last two sessions, lost another 157.86 points at 13,182.35 in the first five minutes of trade.

Similarly, the National Stock Exchange, Nifty, fell by 46.75 points at 3,768.80.

The major losers were HDFC Ltd, Grasim, Infosys, ITC Ltd, ICICI Bank, ONGC, State Bank of India, ACC, Maruti Udyog, Reliance Energy and Tata Consultancy Services.
