Mahanand, who was arrested a fortnight ago for blackmailing his wife’s friend and raping her over three years, confessed of the two other murders.
The serial killer, now labeled as ‘dupatta killer,´ used to befriend young women in the town and later lure them to isolated places and kill them. He has strangulated all the victims with their dupatta cloth.
In the two cases of Darshan and Yogita he took them to isolated spots at Bambolim (near Panaji) and Morlem (Sattari taluk) under the pretext of having sex. He made them remove their clothes and later strangulated them to death, police said.
