Seven Delhi labourers killed in accident

Seven labourers have been killed and at least 20 others injured, when the vehicle fell into a ditch.

Seven labourers have been killed and at least 20 others injured, when the vehicle they were travelling in overturned and fell into a ditch late Tuesday night near Mundhal, about 35 km from here.

The condition of three of the injured is stated to be serious and have been admitted to Rohtak Medical College.

The mishap occurred when the driver lost control over the wehicle and it fell into the eight-feet ditch, police said on Wednesday. There were altogether 32 passengers in the vehicle.

The labourers, all residents of Chhatterpur in Delhi, were on their way to from Sirsa to their residence.

The deceased were identified as Chander Bhan (35), Lakhan Singh (26), Shankar (25) and his brother amarchand (22), Gulshan (23), Hari Chand (25) and Kalu Mal (17),

While three injured were admitted to Civil Hospital in Hansi others have been discharged after first aid.

The driver is absconding after the incident, police said adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
