Seven injured in a road accident in Jalandhar

As many as seven persons were on Thursday injured in a head on collision between a car and a jeep near Phagwara by-pass in Jalandhar, police said.

The vehicles were coming from opposite direction and had head-on collision, police said adding that passengers of both the vehicles were injured in the accident.

All the injured were rushed to nearby local civil hospital, where condition of some of them was stated to be serious but out of danger, police said adding that impact of the accident could have been much fatal, if the speed of the vehicles would have been high.

Some of the victims were Non- Resident Indian(NRI) who were going to meet their relative residing in New Jawahar Nagar locality of the city in Jalandhar.

A case regarding accident has been registered in the concerned police station, police added.
