“Uddhav ji went to the hospital this morning for a routine checkup and would be discharged later today. There is nothing to worry,” said a Shiv Sena spokesperson.

Thackeray was brought to the hospital for health screening.

Doctors at the hospital said that he had no health complaints as such. “He will undergo a cardiac screening test and liver tests,” said a doctor from the hospital.

Thackeray had undergone an angioplasty at the hospital a few years ago after doctors detected blockages in his heart. “He will be discharged post lunch,” said Ajay Kumar Pande, Director, operations and supply at the hospital .
