Shiv Sena makes inroads in interior Maharashtra

Sena was leading in enterior M'rashtra regions of Rajapur, Washim, Ratnagiri, Rajapur, Amravati and Buldhana.
The Shiv Sena made inroads into interior Maharashtra and was leading in Rajapur, Washim, Amravati, Rajapur, Ratnagiri and Buldhana as counting of votes cast in the general election was under way on Thursday.

The Nationalist Congress Party of Sharad Pawar was leading in Kolhapur and Ichalkaranji.

Subhash Deshmukh of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was leading in Solapur against the Congress' Ujwala Shinde, wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde.
The Congress, which rules Maharashtra in alliance with the NCP, had mixed luck.
Sunil Dutt was leading the Shiv Sena's Sanjay Nirupam in Mumbai Northwest but film star Govinda was trailing in Mumbai North behind Petroleum Minister Ram Naik of the BJP.
