A group of about 400 Sena union activists gathered at the Hotel Intercontinental, The Grand, at suburban Sahar to protest against some employees being sacked by the hotel management, they said.
The protest turned violent with the activists damaging hotel property, police said.
The protestors damaged the lobby of the hotel, hotel officials said.
The protesters were placated by the hotel management which promised to hold talks with them, police said.
