SHORT TAKES | Benazir College function begins

THE ANNUAL gathering of the Government Benazir Science and Commerce College commenced today. Former higher education minister Umashankar Gupta was the chief guest while chairman of the people?s participatory committee of the college, Naresh Rao Jadhav, was the special guest.

THE ANNUAL gathering of the Government Benazir Science and Commerce College commenced today. Former higher education minister Umashankar Gupta was the chief guest while chairman of the people’s participatory committee of the college, Naresh Rao Jadhav, was the special guest.

In-charge principal Dr Sanjay Telang presided. Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said that it should be reviewed as to why students in MP want to go out of the State for higher studies.

The annual report was presented by Dr Telang where he mentioned that the principal of the college Dr Shobhana Vajpayee Maroo has been selected as the best principal in Bhopal division during the evaluation of the principals by the advisory committee of the higher education department. The Mr Benazir contest would be held on Saturday.

IGNOU new course

THE INDIRA Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a special course – PG Diploma in Community Cardiology – recently. The all India launch of the course was held in Delhi recently in presence of union health minister Dr Ambumani Ramdoss.

Eminent cardiologist Dr Naresh Trehan and Devi Shetty were present on the occasion. Regional director of IGNOU Dr K S Triwari said that the two-year course would be launched in Bhopal and Indore during first phase.
