AIMING AT creating awareness towards traffic rules, the Road Safety Week will be observed throughout the State from January 2 to January 8, 2006. The subject of the traffic week is ‘Desist from high speed and overloading’.
In the directions issued in this regard, the Superintendents of Police (SPs) have been asked to use speed radars to check the speeding vehicles and take measures to put a curb on high speed of vehicles besides the overloading.
The awareness programmes will be organised at schools and the help of NGOs would be sought in this regard. The painting and poster competitions on traffic would be held. Also, the citizens would be informed about the threats from misuse of LPG in vehicles, risks of not wearing helmet and seat belts et al.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate the Cruise boat “Lake Princess” of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) at Upper Lake on Saturday. On the occasion, Urban Administration Minister Jayant Kumar Malaiyya will preside over the function.
POSTAL DEPARTMENT has made special arrangements for sending greetings and wishes of New Year for citizens to their friends and relatives. Special collection centers have been opened at GPO, Central TT Nagar, Ravishankar Nagar, Piplani, Board Office and Bairagarh.
