FOLLOWING RECURRENT disputes with her mother-in-law, a 30-year-old woman locked herself up in a room and immolated herself with her three children in Rewa’s Panihara village, police said. The deceased Urmila Devi’s husband Lakshman Saket was a truck driver who was often away from home. Yesterday, Urmila locked herself up along with Samar Bahadur (6 months), Arvind (2) and Manisha (3) and commit immolation by pouring kerosene. UNI

Engine derailment hits traffic

RAILWAY TRAFFIC was disrupted for over three hours after a light engine derailed near Midghat between Budhni and Barkhera stations this evening. More than half a dozen mail and express trains were detained at Itarsi and Barkhera stations as a consequence. According to information, the front wheels of a light engine derailed on the Up track near Midghat at around 5 pm.

After the accident, trains on the down track were allowed to pass with lower speed. Tulsi Express and Goa Express were detained at Itarsi station for over one and half hour. Gondwana Express and Udyognagri Express were detained at Jhujharpur station for a short period. HTC

22 hurt in two mishaps

TWENTY-TWO persons including 11 women were injured in two accidents in the Sehore district during the last 24 hours. All the 17 persons travelling in a tractor-trolley from Pochaner village were injured when the trolley overturned on Indore-Bhopal Road about 10 km from here on Tuesday. The injured were hospitalised at the district hospital here. Earlier, four persons sustained injuries when a mini-bus turned turtle near Konajhir on Sehore Ichawar Road on Monday. HTC

16 passengers injured

SIXTEEN PASSENGERS were critically injured when a minibus overturned on Satna-Rewa route under Kolgawan police station on Monday evening. All the injured were admitted to district hospital. According to police, a minibus overloaded with passengers was returning to Satna when the accident took place. According to information, a speeding truck hit the minibus while overtaking it near Kripalpur Harijan town. All the injured belong to Satna. Police have registered a case in this regard and further investigations are on. Agencies
