Simone Warne, the wife of the world's highest Test wicket taker Shane Warne, has said that the sex scandals involving her husband that were revealed both by the English and the Aussie media just before last year's Ashes series, were the final straw in their marriage.
"That was it. I had just moved with the kids to England when all that stuff hit the paper. Maybe he just doesn't know what the real world is," she was quoted as saying.
She refuted the media reports claiming that she had demanded a ten-million-dollar maintenance package from her husband as a divorce deal. "I have never said I want 10 million dollars," she reportedly said during a round of interviews while presenting herself as the new face of homesite.com.au, Australia's News Interactive's home and gardening website.
She also denied that she had a fling with AFL player Aaron Hamill as reported by a section of the Australian media.
To a question as to how her kids - Brooke (8), Jackson (6), and Summer (4) - handled the news of their parents divorce, Simone said they took it in their stride. "They were so young, they didn't really understand. They just thought they had gone on a holiday and were coming back to Australia early," she said.
