Six burnt to death in Alang ship breaking yard fire

Six workers were burnt alive in a fire at Alang ship breaking yard in Bhavnagar on Tuesday, police said.

Six workers were burnt alive in a fire at Alang ship breaking yard in Bhavnagar on Tuesday, police said.

The incident occurred when some workers of Alang Auto Company, owned by Uday Agarwal, were cutting down the engine portion of ship ‘M S Jesica´ in the world’s largest ship scrapping yard, they said.

The fire officials took nearly three hours to put out the blaze, police said, adding that investigation was on to ascertain the cause of the fire.
