Six persons were killed and 18 others injured when a bus carrying them lost control and fell into a ditch near Kuwari village in Bihar's Sitamarhi district, an official said.

The mishap took place as the driver lost control of the bus which fell into a ditch filled with water, sub-divisional officer (SDO), Sadar, Rajesh Kumar said.

The injured were admitted to a hospital, Kumar said.

A crane was being requisitioned to take out the bodies from the bus, he said.
