Six Reliance employees drown

Around 12 am the water level started rising, but they did not notice it and were pulled in by the tide, reports Kiran Sonawane.

Six employees of Reliance Infotech in Mahape, Navi Mumbai, including two women, drowned on Monday morning at Dive Agaar beach in Srivardhan, Raigad district.

A group of 14 went to Srivardhan for a picnic on Sunday. At 11.00 am, seven decided to go for a swim. After an hour, the water level started rising, but they did not notice it and were pulled in by the tide. Only Manish Okha (27) could be saved.

The deceased are Chembur residents Kingston Paul (30) and Noor Mansuri (26), Ambernath resident Nilkanth Aiyer (26), Mulund resident Manoj Parmare (35), Nasir Sheikh (35) and Mamta Naahak (25) of Kopar Khairane.
