Slight intensity quake jolts western M'rashtra

An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter Scale on Monday night jolted parts of western Maharashtra including Pune, Sangli and Satara.

An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter Scale on Monday night jolted parts of western Maharashtra including Pune, Sangli and Satara, according to Indian Met Department.

The epicentre of the quake that struck at 2210 hours was in Satara district adjoining Pune.

The waves of the quake were felt in as far as Mumbai, about 200km from Pune.
