AN EX-ARMY official is running from pillar to post for past one week to see killers of his son behind bars but to no avail. His son’s decomposed body was recovered from the Gomti on April 19. The cops wrapped up the matter claiming that the youth had committed suicide. But, the deceased’s kin maintained that the youth had been murdered.

The family members pointed a finger at the role of youth’s friends. But, the police dismissed the complainant’s theory. Despite clear instruction by SSP Ashutosh Pandey to probe into the matter and interrogate the suspects, station officer (SO) Talkatora Sanjay Maurya has been reluctant to initiate the action.
Ex-Army official RPS Chauhan, a resident of E-1746, Rajajipuram colony and his elder son Mahendra broke into tears as they narrated the tale of Chauhan’s son Abhishek (22). Abhishek, an executive with personal loans wing of a private bank on Sapru Marg, had last talked to his sister Poonam around 8.45 pm on April 17.
Abhishek’s mobile phone had been responding as switched off since 9.30 pm
Abhishek had left home around 2 pm and was last seen till 4.30 pm at Manglam cyber café near Karbala, Talkatora along with his childhood friend Pankaj.
Chauhan, Mahendra and other relatives launched a search for Abhishek. They first contacted his friend Ashish of Hewett Road who said Abhishek was with him that day. But, Ashish claimed he had left Abhishek near Novelty theater, Lalbagh around 8.30 pm.
The very next day, Chauhan informed the local police about mysterious disappearance of his son. However, the cops asked the harried father to search for his son himself. Abhishek’s sister Poonam went to Ashish inquiring about her brother on April 18 too and found him heavily drunk. In an inebriated state, Ashish told Poonam that her brother had committed suicide. When asked as how he was making such a weird statement, Ashish said...that Abhishek had made a call to latter’s boss Chanchal Singh on April 17. He further said that Abhishek had told Chanchal that he was badly upset.
It was on April 19 evening that Chauhan received a call from the local police station to reach the river Gomti at Daliganj bridge to identify a body.
Accompanied by his elder son Mahendra Chauhan rushed to the bank of the river to see that it was none other but his missing son Abhishek’s rotten body.
Though the body was beyond recognition the family members identified withthe help of clothes and the keys lying in the pocket.
Chauhan said that Abhishek’s wallet, wristwatch and the cellphone were missing.
Chauhan raised suspicion on the role of Ashish referring his statement in which he had declared even before a day that Abhishek had committed suicide. He said that Ashish probably was aware about Abhishek’s death when he had made the statement.
Chuahan also referred a money dispute with Ashish. He said that Ashish’s friends Dheeraj Agrawal and Rajesh Agrawal had taken Rs 27,139 and Rs 21,500, respectively assuring him (Chauhan) to invest the money in shares. But, they never gave him the demat account details and did not return the money too.
Abhishek used to ask Ashish about the money regularly.
However, SO Maurya ignored all the details and refused to pick up the suspects to corroborate the allegations.
