Somnath Sen began his career in the visual medium in 1987, as an Assistant Director in TV Serials in New Delhi. He has worked as Director, Director of Photography, Editor, Screenwriter and in production oriented activities in over hundred productions including feature films, documentaries, music videos, television series and commercials. He has worked extensively in the United States and Indian film industry.

After completing his Masters program in Film Directing from the USC School of Cinema-Television, Somnath moved to Mumbai and worked in mainstream Hindi films such as Raja Hindustani, Judwaa, Ajay, Kachche Dhage, Janam Samjha Karo and Kareeb - many of which were blockbusters.
Somnath's first script, "67 Down" was written when he was a student at the USC film school. The film was accepted by the National Film Development corporation. He was also attached as writer to several television shows including Krishna 2000, Champions and Chilman.
Later, Somnath formed Lemon Tree Films and produced and directed commercials and corporate films. Now settled in Los Angeles, Somnath spends his time as a Freelance Director and as Creative Head of Lemon Tree Films.
