Sonia and Jaspal Rana blitz continues

SONIA RAI of CISF continued her trailblazer performance in the shooting event at the selection trials for the 15th Asian Games on the 10th day on Saturday with another superlative performance in the 25-meter sports pistol (women) event. She scored a total of 772.6 points (570 in the semifinal and 202.6 in the final).

SONIA RAI of CISF continued her trailblazer performance in the shooting event at the selection trials for the 15th Asian Games on the 10th day on Saturday with another superlative performance in the 25-meter sports pistol (women) event. She topped the table followed by Anisa Sayyed of Railways, who stood second with a total score of 766.1. Annuraj singh of Indian Railways finished third with a score of 759.5 points.

Jaspal Rana of ONGC too continued his brilliant showing in the 25 meters standard pistol event by scoring 572 points. He was followed by Samaresh Jung of CISF with 566 points and Harpreet Singh of Army with 564 points.

In the 50 meters rifle three position (women), Meena Kumari of the Army continued her supremacy by winning the event scoring 674.9 points. She was followed by Pooja Reddy of Indian Airlines (673.1 points) and Anjali Bhagwat of Maharashtra (673.1 points).

Sunday’s events (11th day) will include 25-meter centre fire pistol and 50-meter rifle free position. Among those to be seen in action include Mohinder Pal, Jaspal Rana, Ashok Pandit, Samresh Jung and Rounak Pandit.
