Sonia to campaign in Orissa

The Congress chief would campaign in Orissa on the last day of electioneering for first phase of assembly & LS polls on April 20.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi would campaign in Orissa tomorrow on the last day of electioneering for the first phase of the simultaneous assembly and Lok Sabha polls on April 20.

In her first leg of campaign, Gandhi would address meetings at Jharsuguda, Jaypore and Nuapada, OPCC sources said here today.

She might come to the state for the second leg of electioneering on April 23, they said.

Eleven Lok Sabha and 77 assembly constituencies in Western and Southern Orissa would go to polls on April 20 while election for the remaining 10 Lok Sabha and 70 assembly seats would be held in the third phase on April 26.

Meanwhile, special security arrangements were being made for her visit with the deployment of forces in all the three places where she would address election meetings, state police sources said.
