Police on Sunday arrested the owner of the restaurant from where
20-year-old Sonish Javed was suspected to have been pushed to death in Gurgaon. They also raided various places in Delhi and Haryana in search of her employer, who is missing ever since the incident took place on Friday night.

"We have arrested Gurjeet Singh, the owner of the Addiction restaurant under Excise Act and he is being interrogated," Gurgaon Range Inspector General of Police Mahendra Lal said on Sunday.

He said sale of liquor was not permitted in the restaurant beyond 12 midnight but it was being done there.

"But we are still looking for Ashok Rajput with whom Sonish, an events manager had been working for the past sometime and something concrete can emerge only when he is traced," Lal said.

Meanwhile, DLF's Station House Officer Baljit Singh said that the investigations had revealed that Sonish and Rajput had picked up a fight over some issue a few hours before her death.

Police are questioning several people who might have last seen Sonish, who was found dead in the wee hours of Friday.

Asked if the girl could have committed suicide by jumping from the building, Singh said, "We have registered a murder case on the complaint of Sonish's parents. At the moment, however, we are not ruling out any possibility and are investigating all angles".

Singh also said the police would send samples to the forensic laboratory at Karnal on Monday to ascertain if Sonish, who was said to be partying in the restaurant with her friends, had consumed alcohol before she met her end.
