Sordo is the regular driver for the Prodrive managed MINI team and used to partner reigning world champion Sebastien Loeb at Citroen.

Sordo will partner 2003 WRC champion Petter Solberg at Argentina before leading MINI's WRC effort once more at Rally New Zealand.

The Spaniard has a chance to leapfrog Latvala in the WRC drivers' championship at the 27-29 April event as he trails him by just seven points.
