Soren was brought by Delhi police earlier in the day for his appearance before the Jamtara Additional District Judge Arun Kumar who issued a production warrant against him last month.

Soren's counsel moved the plea that he be lodged in Jamtara jail as he has to appear before the court again on January 16.

Soren is one of the 26 people charged with inciting a mob that killed 11 people at Chirrudih under Narayanpur police station in Jamtara on January 23, 1975.

The court also heard the deposition from a witness, taking the total number of witnesses who had deposed before it in the case to 16.
