"Chandel was elected as SP MLA. He had joined BSP few months back but he failed to work on policies of the party due to which he has been expelled," BSP state president Swami Prasad Maurya said in Lucknow.

He alleged that Chandel was involved in anti-party activities and there were a number of complaints against him.

"Chandel was given responsibility to associate Chhatriya samaj with the party and he failed miserably to do so. His relatives also complained to chief minister Mayawati that he was harassing them," Maurya said.
