Speeding car kills woman in Gurgaon

In an apparent hit-and-run case, an unidentified woman was allegedly killed by a speeding car near Rajiv Chowk on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway today morning.

In an apparent hit-and-run case, an unidentified woman was allegedly killed by a speeding car near Rajiv Chowk on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway on Saturday morning.

“The woman was found unconscious at exit number 10 of the Gurgaon expressway (near Medanta turn). According to an eyewitness, the woman was hit by a white Mahindra Bolero bearing Uttarakhand registration number. The victim was in her early 20s,” said ASI Pawan.

According to the police, the ambulance stationed near Rajiv Chowk got a call at 8.31 am, informing the attendant that a woman had been found unconscious near the Gurgaon expressway exit. The victim was immediately taken to a hospital in Sector 10 from where she was referred to the Gurgaon Civil Hospital where she was declared brought dead.

A case has been registered at the Sadar police station under various sections of the IPC.

“The woman was carrying a purse that had a key and R60. She was going towards Jharsa,” added Pawan.

“The woman, who was wearing white salwar and kurta, was badly injured,” said ambulance driver Naresh.
