Sri Lanka arrests 10 Indian fishermen

The Sri Lankan Navy has arrested 10 Indian fishermen who had strayed into the island's territorial waters, the defence ministry said on Monday.

It said the navy stopped a fibre glass dingy with 10 on board off the seas of Talaimannar on Sunday evening.

"The crew on board had stated that they were from South India," the ministry said in a statement.

"The boat which had two out board motors was also detained by the navy."
