Srinagar gun battle ends; two terrorists kiled

Army and securitymen are currently engaged in fighting terrorists in two other towns.

The 25-hour long encounter between terrorists and security forces inside Income Tax Office building in Srinagar ended on Saturday afternoon with two terrorists being killed, Deputy Inspector General of Police, HK Lohia said.

According to a private TV channel, seven persons have also been injured in the incident.

The Army is locked in a fierce battle with terrorists in two more places in Jammu & Kashmir. 

One armyman has reportedly been killed in the ongoing encounter with terrorists who are holed up in a house in Pulwama, according to the channel.

In the Srinagar encounter, one policeman was killed and three others injured on Saturday, a senior police official said.

The security forces have cordoned off the area and intermittent firing was on in which the policeman was killed, Inspector General, Srinagar, Javed Makhdoomi said.

According to the IG, the security jawans were yet to enter the building as the firing was on.
