He has also warned to deduct the salary of dy CMOs and senior medical officers along with the salary of the doctor, in case the latter was found absent during inspection.

Dr Singhavi reached the New PHC Bankesar at about 9 am and found that it was locked. All the doctors and staff were missing from the PHC.

A medical officer was also found absent at the Kamlanagar PHC. As many as nine members of the para-medical staff were also found absent at the Behria PHC.

Dr Singhavi also inspected the Soraon CHC, where a health visitor was found absent.

“Orders have been given to cut the salary of all the staff found absent during inspection.

It has also been decided to cut the salary of the dy CMO and superintendent concerned in case any doctor or staff in their area is found absent during inspection. In future, not only the medical officers but their immediate reporting authority, including deputy CMOs, will also have to face disciplinary action,” said Dr Singhavi.

He said the deputy chief medical officers had been warned to conduct regular inspections of CHCs and PHCs.
