This is in addition to the existing 26 hotels in India, the prominent ones being Le Meridien, Sheraton and the Luxury Collection.

“India is a key focus of our expansion efforts, because it is a market that today is relatively under-hoteled. We are extremely bullish about the future here and we see a lot of growth for the next 20 years,” said Frits van Paasschen, president & CEO Starwood Hotels.

He said the company would introduce new brands apart from significantly adding hotels under the brands Four Points by Sheraton, Westin and Aloft.
