“We have no faith in the judicial commission or Special Investigation Team set up by the government to probe the gruesome incident,” said its spokesperson Mohd Shafi Khan.

“We appeal to Dr Manmohan Singh, not as PM but as the father of a daughter or daughters to intervene. We are not demanding much. We demand justice only. We demand the identification and prosecution of culprits. They are uniformed men. The police and state government know it. But they are trying to cover up the case,” he said.
