Streisand fires salvo at 'unofficial' biography
Christopher Andersen's biography on Barbara Streisand, Barbara: The Way She Is, draws the singer's ire.
Singer Barbara Streisand read the book Barbara: The Way She Is by Christopher Andersen and is not happy with it at all. She did not like the parts describing her as a heartless classless climber, said pagesix.com.

She posted a note on her site titled 'Does the Truth Matter These Days'?, in which she said: "Normally, I would not dignify vicious, meanspirited mythology masquerading as biography.
But it seems that this latest rehashing of other unauthorised biographies is getting a lot of attention. Who is the person described in this book? Certainly not anyone I know.
This stereotypic image bears very little resemblance to me or anything about me. No one who knows me well or has really worked with me professionally was a source for this book. What motivates people to make up negative stories? Why isn't the truth enough?
One example, to say that I was in the same city as my sister on her wedding day and refused to attend, is a lie. I was in London filming on that day."
Streisand, who has also acted in several movies, further said: "I will not dignify any other untruths by responding any further. Maybe it is finally time for an authorised biography."
