SBI employees went on an indefinite strike in the national capital to press for revision in pension, paralysing work in 220 branches even as Union Minister of State for Labour Chandrasekhar Sahu renewed his appeal to the agitationists to call off the strike.

Agitating employees, including officers, said that the strike will continue unless the demand for the pension revision was met.

Union leaders, representatives from the finance ministry and the bank management, had met Sahu on Sunday but failed to work out a solution on the issue.

The Chief Labour Commissioner has again called the representatives of striking employees and the management for reconciliation on April 5.

Union leaders said the strike will continue unless the demand for the pension revision was met.
