Bandaru Srinivas, 22, was found hanging from a tree around 6 am, said police. Two suicide notes, both written in Telugu were recovered from his pocket. In one, he mentioned he was making the ultimate sacrifice for Telangana and in the other, he requested Telangana leaders to take care of his aged parents after his death.

Srinivas is the third student to end his life on the university campus this year. Pro-Telangana groups say over 600 people, mostly youth, committed suicide in the last three years over the delay in the formation of Telangana state.

Srinivas, who came from Mahbubnagar, a backward district in Telangana, had recently completed his BTech.
