Earlier, a delegation consisting of ADC principal, teachers and non-teaching staff, handed over a memorandum addressed to the district magistrate to the ADM, pointing out the on-going agitation in the college by a student demanding increase in admission seats for undergraduate classes.

The memorandum highlighted that the college, being a constituent college of the Allahabad University, was bound by its directives and therefore was unable to increase the number of seats. The delegation requested the administration to help restore normalcy on the campus. The administration representative promised full co-operation to restore the desired academic environment on the campus .

Meanwhile, continuing their agitation, ADC students blocked traffic on the Yamuna bridge following deterioration in the health of student leader Rama Shankar Pandey, who is on fast unto death for the past six days. The police admitted Pandey to the SRN Hospital this afternoon even as two other student leaders went on fast unto death in his place. The students urged the district administration to intervene in the matter.

Angry with the deterioration in the condition of Pandey, large number of students reached the Yamuna bridge and shouted slogans against the college administration. The students blocked traffic and urged the district administration to help the students. They demanded dismissal of principal Dr Mukti Vyas and submitted a memorandum for the DM to the city magistrate in this regard.
