Students submit memo to V-C

ALLAHABAD UNIVERSITY (AU) students demanded to check the misuse of funds received by the university from the government and provide facilities to the students at par with other central universities.

ALLAHABAD UNIVERSITY (AU) students demanded to check the misuse of funds received by the university from the government and provide facilities to the students at par with other central universities.

The students submitted a memorandum to the AU Vice-Chancellor Prof RG Harshe in this regard.

Students led by student leader Pravesh Singh Yadav met the V-C and put their demands through a memorandum. Yadav demanded central facilities to the students, construction of new hostels, new books to the students, clean drinking water and proper arrangement of lighting in the classrooms.

Yadav charged the AU administration for misusing the funds and investing heavily on the chambers of heads of departments.

Student leader Rajesh Yadav warned the AU administration to use the funds considering interest of the students. The student leaders threatened to stage demonstration if the AU administration overlooks the needs of the students.

Those present on the occasion were Savindra Yadav, Lalaram Saroj, Anurag Patel, Ajit Bhaskar and Bal Mukund Maurya among others.

Demonstration at UPPSC today: AU students will stage dharna at the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) at 12 pm on Thursday in support of their demands.

The students were demanded to restore UPPSC to conduct the examinations of Lower/UDA/LDA and to dissolve the Subordinate Service Commission. This was decided in a meeting held at the AU student union hall here on Wednesday.

Addressing the students in the meeting student leader Vijay Kumar Dwivedi charged the State government for harassing the economically weak and talented students.
