Show timings at LIFW have turned out to be a problem for the fashion conscious around town. So far, shows that have begun at 12 noon have lacked enough viewers. That's not to say these shows had outlandish clothes or the designer wasn't big enough.

But things are improving on that count and designers are hopeful about business transaction. "We've already got orders from Cananda, a buyer from Spain and we hope the next few days will see more business,"' says Paras of the label Geisha Designs.
Adds Leena Singh of Ashima-Leena: "We're talking to buyers and soon we'll know what to expect from the fashion week." For the buyers, it's still too early. "We've seen just a few shows. A better picture will emerge towards the end," says Elisabeth Pederson of Selfridges.
Meanwhile, things are rolling and they are rolling perfectly. But as is the case with any mega event, there have been murmurs. For instance, on the first day a designer wanted to take three buyers to her stall but was refused entry. "This is not fair. I have these buyers waiting to come to my stall," says the designer. "If other stalls are not ready why can't they let us in?" Point well taken, especially when LIFW is looking at the business of fashion. Also, despite the AC halls, some designers say it gets hot during the day. That's not very haute, is it?
